Mrs. Mathers is our Art Teacher and has worked at MCH for six years. She has an MFA degree from Drake University and has taught art for over 35 years for all ages, preschool through adult! Betty has done extensive reading in the Montessori philosophy and works to incorporate the same principals in her work with our students.
Mrs. Ward is our Music Teacher and has worked at MCH since 1999. She has a B.A. in Music Education from Graceland University and previously taught at a Montessori school in Ajax, Ontario. Jeannine has attended portions of the Montessori workshop that focused on music to incorporate Montessori principals in her approach with our students. Jeannine has her Teaching Certificate from the state of Iowa.
Ms. Terrell is our French Teacher. She has a B.A. from Drake University. Though her degree is in French and Education, she has a very eclectic background, which includes, ballet, classical piano, and yoga. Ruth feels that all these elements work together very well in the Montessori system and allow students to express different facets of themselves while being introduced to a foreign language.
