A Montessori Foundation for Children Ages 18 Months to 6 Years

Serving families across Des Moines, Ankeny, Johnston, Urbandale, and Waukee with authentic Montessori education.

More Than a Daycare. More Than a Traditional Preschool. Montessori.

Montessori Children’s House is an educational environment built around independence, curiosity, and long-term growth. Children work at their own pace within a structured, carefully prepared classroom.

Program Overview

  • A young boy is sitting at a table playing a board game with red and blue pieces. The boy is wearing a yellow and gray long-sleeved shirt, and there is a small open book or notebook next to him.

Experience a Working Montessori Classroom

During your 30–45 minute tour, you will:

  • Observe children engaged in a three-hour uninterrupted work cycle

  • See toddlers choosing materials independently

  • Watch guides support rather than direct

  • Learn how drop-off, dismissal, and daily routines work

  • Ask questions about enrollment, fit, and next steps

You are welcome to bring your child.
We encourage families to see how their child responds to the environment.

Before your visit, we recommend reviewing our Parent section and blog to better understand Montessori philosophy and how it supports growth both at school and at home.

A Thoughtful Visit

We ask that phones remain silenced so you can fully experience the classroom.

This tour is designed for families who are considering Montessori seriously — and want to understand what makes this environment different from traditional preschool or daycare.
