A Personalized Montessori Experience for Your Child

Choosing the right preschool or early learning center is one of the most important decisions a parent will make. At Montessori Children's House (MCH), we’re proud to offer something truly special—a consistent, nurturing environment where children ages 18 months to 7 years grow and thrive through individualized learning.

Our highly experienced, Montessori-trained teachers provide stability and guidance, leading multi-age classrooms where children can thrive for up to three years. This consistency fosters close, trusted relationships that support each child's emotional and academic development. Children at MCH lead their own learning journeys, exploring their interests with independence and confidence.

We also offer after-school enrichment activities that bring in outside organizations for music, art, and cultural experiences. Montessori education goes beyond academic growth. At MCH, we emphasize the development of the whole child—socially, emotionally, and physically. Our classrooms are thoughtfully designed to inspire curiosity, encourage problem-solving, and support children in becoming confident, self-directed learners.

From hands-on practical life skills to early math and literacy exploration, each child is free to explore their interests in a calm and prepared environment. Learn more about our programs here.

What Should Parents Look for in a Montessori Program for 2-Year-Olds?

Many Montessori programs don’t begin until age three, but at MCH, we understand that the earliest years are the most critical. Dr. Montessori famously said, "The most important period of life is not the age of university studies, but the first one, the period from birth to age six." During this time, children develop independence, confidence, and a natural love of learning.

At MCH, our teachers specialize in Montessori methods specifically for toddlers, creating calm, orderly environments tailored to young children’s developmental needs. Even at two years old, children are encouraged to direct their own learning, building independence and pride as they master new skills.

Children learn practical life skills such as:

  • Pouring and sorting

  • Folding and cleaning

  • Practicing fine motor skills through hands-on activities

These early lessons lay the foundation for a lifetime of curiosity and problem-solving. Explore our Montessori toddler program.

Fun and Surprising Facts About Our Daily Primary Program Schedule

A typical day in our primary classroom looks quite different from traditional preschools. Dr. Montessori found that children learn best when they have uninterrupted time to engage deeply in their work. That’s why our students enjoy a three-hour morning work cycle, allowing them to choose activities based on their interests and explore concepts without rushing.

There’s no rigid schedule for snack time or group activities. Children eat when they’re hungry and can join group lessons when they’re ready. Circle time is minimized, and participation is always optional. Outdoor learning is an important part of our curriculum, with each classroom having its own fenced-in outdoor classroom that children use daily.

Movement is essential in Montessori education, and our classrooms are designed to encourage physical activity throughout the day. This approach respects each child’s natural rhythms and encourages focus, independence, and self-motivation. When children are allowed to direct their own learning, they develop critical thinking skills and a lifelong love of learning.
